Instructions for how to handle an Echappe Shipment
Signature required for all shipments
To cover our liability on shipments all packages must be signed for. We create all labels for "Indirect Signature" options, so your neighbor or anyone at your house can sign for the wheels. Wheels cannot be left on your porch, hallway, stoop or behind your garage without a signature.
All customers, regardless of how small your order is, have the option of selecting "Ground Shipping". These packages must be shipped to a commercial location. If our FedEx label creator tells us the address you provided is a residential address, you will be charged for Home Delivery charges. With all of these options, we have enabled you to select the one most appropriate for your work and life schedule. If you have more questions, please contact us about shipping.
April 2009 UPDATE: Damaged Box? Don't Sign for it!
At Echappe Equipment, we send you everything in boxes that are in one piece. That is, they don't have holes in them. If you get a box from FedEx and it has a hole in the side of it, DO NOT SIGN FOR IT. Refuse the package based on damage. Do not send it back to us. Have it sent to a FedEx Damage Claim Inspection Station.
If this happens to you:
- Let us know that you've rejected a FedEx shipment and had it sent to a FedEx Damage Claim department.
- We'll do everything in our power to get you wheels for your race date, including free overnight shipping.
Receiving:
- Unpack the wheelset and inspect it for damage during shipping.
- Sign the release form at the bottom of your included invoice.
Returning:
- Inspect the wheels for damage.
- Carefully repack the wheels if you are returning them.
- Sign the waiver at the bottom of the invoice .
Packing Materials:
Echappe provides adequate packaging for all shipping. Wheelsets are expected to be packaged correctly, utilizing the provided materials given at the very least. If wheels are returned without proper packaging and damage occurs, you are resposible for any damage incurred. FedEx is not responsible for inappropriate packaging, nor are we. This also falls inline with our Acknowledgement of Risks document as well as the optional Excessive Damage Agreement.
Shipping Prices:
Customers pay for shipping of products if they are not available for local pick up. Inventory is constantly moving and if we need to ship something to get it to you, you're responsible for that charge.
You will see a secondary charge on your statement from Echappe Equipment to cover any additional shipping charges, use of extra equipment or special services. Shipping is calculated by FedEx and we charge exactly what we are charged.
If your estimated shipping from your transaction does in fact cover your round trip shipping then you will not see supplemental charges on your statement. Questions? Please ask us here.

About Local Pick-Up and Race Day Pick-Up:
Local pick up from our area reps is always welcome (check out our area rep locations here), but wheels for local pick up can only be done if the the wheels are already in your city. So, if you live in New York and you make a Zipp 900 tubular disc wheel rental, but the wheel is in Philadelphia you are still responsible for the shipping to New York from Philly. That is why we advise you to ask about the wheel's location if you are within 7 days of your requested rental date.
Timing:
We have wheels in New York City, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Kansas City (MO) and Birmingham (AL) - but not everything you see on the site. While we try to meet the three day shipping time, sometimes wheels are farther from you than 3 days. Please take this into consideration when requesting a wheelset with a delivery date within 7 days of your order.
Cut off times:
While we work as quickly as possible to ensure that you get the wheelset you need for the weekend, we are only human. That said, there are cut off times for placing orders and receiving your wheelset.
- Within 7 days of your delivery date, please ask about the wheel's location.
- 72 hours from your delivery date for 2 day shipping.
- 48 hours from your delivery date for Overnight Shipping.
- 24 hour reservations are local delivery or pick up only.
- Same Day reservations are local pick up only.
- Further delivery services conducted by Echappe Equipment are subject to a $50 rush handling fee plus any tolls or excessive expenses upon the Echappe Representative.
Cancellation Policy:
If you reserve wheels through us and then cancel within 72 hours of your scheduled arrival date you will not receive credit or a refund. Inventory is limited and cancellations within this timeframe caused other athletes to miss a chance at race wheels.
All cancellations are subject to a $25 processing and restocking fee.

Return Times:

Please drop off your wheels at the closest FEDEX location to you on your final rental day. If your wheels are not scanned by FedEx on your last rental day, you will be billed for an additional day.

Make your reservation early. You can make a note regarding shipping costs in the check-out, or you can contact us.
